Past To Present: A History of ATW Training & Consulting

ATW Training was founded on the mission of helping organizations Unleash their Human Potential. Named after three family members, Andrea, Tatum and Walker, we have strived to keep that family-first focus in everything we do from customized training programs to consulting and coaching. 1999 ATW Training is established focusing on Unleashing Human Potential in organizations throughout the United States and North America. 
2000 ATW establishes training partnership with The Ken Blanchard Companies.
2001 ATW begins working as the exclusive instructional design partner for The John Maxwell Company.

ATW entered into agreement with Walk the Talk Companies to publish Todd McDonald’s inaugural book, I Wish You Would Just…

2003 President Todd McDonald honored with the Volunteer Partnership Award by ASTD National for his work as a National Advisor for Chapters.
2004 Todd McDonald publishes second book with co-author Tony Jeary, How to Find 100 Extra Minutes a Day
2006 ATW makes strategic decision to continue work with national customers, but focus efforts on the Midwest/Iowa marketplace.
2007 ATW moves into new, expanded office space to accommodate customer and employee growth.
2008 Through a tough economy, ATW has continued its 20-mile march of progressive growth year after year.
2010 ATW enters the world of e-Learning with the development of its first 12 e-Learning programs.
2011 ATW continues to evolve by offering customers virtual learning through webinars.
2012 President Todd McDonald honored by Central Iowa ASTD with the President’s Award for his contribution to the Training and Development profession.
2013 ATW has record growth fueled by quality classroom training sessions, e-Learning and virtual learning.
2014 In order to provide space for expansion, ATW moves into a larger office at 11140 Aurora Avenue, Urbandale, Iowa, 50322.
2015 ATW entered into key partnership agreements with Wiley Publishing to provide The Behaviors of a Cohesive Team and DiSC products.  Additionally, ATW partnered with Blanchard Training and Development to provide the updated Legendary Service program as well as Vital Smarts to provide Crucial Conversations.  These agreements helped to strengthen the offerings in ATW’s Core Four (Leadership, Teamwork, Communication and Customer Service).

Design and release of Management Development Program2 focusing on content that take leaders beyond the foundational skills introduced in the best-selling ATW Management Development program.


ATW headquarters moved and expanded to include conference center, computer lab and thee virtual learning rooms.

Designed and released new Working Leaders 5-part series for influential team leaders in organizations. 

Awarded Runner-Up, Best Training and Development Company by Business Record.

Updated and released the ATW harassment, discrimination and anti-bullying program (Keeping Your Workplace Free from Harassment and Discrimination)
